A smoke-free venue in Phoenix can add nicotine pouches or disposable vapes only if that placement is allowed and the house rule still permits the product. OnHand buys the machine, checks that a buyer is 21 or older before those products vend, and will not stock them where the house or the law says no. This page is not legal advice.
The line is nicotine and lifestyle. Bars that can host the mix are on nicotine vending for Phoenix bars and nightclubs. This page is the smoke-free question: what changes when the room does not allow smoking, and what does not.
Can a smoke-free venue in Phoenix add a nicotine machine?
Only if the placement is allowed and the venue’s smoke-free rule still permits the product. A no-smoking sign does not answer Arizona’s vending rule, and it does not give OnHand permission to ignore your house policy. Nicotine pouches and disposable vapes are 21+ only. If either limit fails, that product stays off the machine.
What the house rule controls
If the written policy bans vaping, we do not stock disposable vapes. If it bans nicotine in every form, we do not stock pouches. If it only bans lit cigarettes, say that in plain language before anyone talks about a mix. We will not treat silence as a yes. Staff should not be left to invent the rule at the door.
What we will not decide for you
We will not tell you that a smoke-free bar qualifies as a vending location. We will not tell you that a pouch is outside the statute. We will not tell you that a city rule is looser than the state text. Those are questions for your counsel. The statute OnHand quotes is on the FAQ, reprinted from the Legislature, not rewritten here as advice.
Are nicotine pouches and disposable vapes treated the same?
No. Both are 21+ and age-checked before they vend, and both stay off a machine the venue cannot host. A pouch is not a lit cigarette. A disposable vape is an inhaled product, and a smoke-free policy may ban it even when it never mentions pouches. Name the product. Do not accept a bundle you did not want.
ZYN and other pouches
ZYN is the nicotine-pouch staple where the 21+ line is placed. Other adult pouch brands rotate. We do not promise every flavor at every stop. Lists for nicotine products sit behind the age gate on the nicotine page. Someone under 21 cannot finish that purchase.
Geek Bar, Lost Mary, and a no-vaping rule
Geek Bar and Lost Mary are the disposable staples, 21+ only. If your smoke-free policy bans vaping, these do not go in. A bar can ask for pouches and refuse vapes. Say so. We would rather stock the smaller set than argue with a sign on your door.
Where does the Arizona vending rule still apply?
The vending-location rule still applies. Smoke-free is your house policy, not a substitute for the statute. A.R.S. § 36-798.02 is quoted on the FAQ. We do not interpret it, and we will not tell you that your room qualifies. Confirm current law with counsel. Cities may be stricter than the state text.
Bars, and rooms that are not bars
The FAQ quotation is the text to read with your own counsel. A family dining room, a hotel lobby, a gym floor, and a retail shop are not the use the bars guide describes. A smoke-free version of those rooms does not become a better candidate. If counsel says the placement is not allowed, the answer is no.
Employee lounges
The statute names an employee lounge as well as a bar, with conditions printed in the FAQ quotation. Read that language with counsel. We will not decide that a break room qualifies because it is smoke-free and adults work nearby. Gym and office stocking already says to leave nicotine off unless ownership has a specific, allowed place.
What can the venue still put on the floor?
Smart vending does not depend on a nicotine yes. Food and beverage covers cold drinks, water, energy drinks, and snacks, with no alcohol. Pokémon cards are sealed packs where that audience already exists. Wip energy pouches are caffeine, not nicotine, and can be discussed without pouches or vapes.
Wip is not a workaround
Wip is an energy pouch. It is not a nicotine product, and it is not a way to place a 21+ line in a room that refused one. If you want only Wip, say only Wip. The age check on the FAQ is for nicotine pouches and disposable vapes. Open products do not use that check.
Hotels, gyms, and other smoke-free floors
A hotel that asked for guest drinks should stay on food and drink vending for hotels. A gym should stay on water and snacks unless ownership has an allowed place. Nightlife and hospitality is the broader room. Food and beverage and Pokémon cards are the other machines. None of those pages turn a smoke-free lobby into a tobacco vending site.
What does the venue pay for, and what must it tell us?
OnHand pays for the machine, the product, install, restocking, cashless payments, and monitoring. The venue provides a lawful spot, power, access for restock, and a straight description of the smoke-free rule. You do not buy inventory or empty a cash box. Guests pay on the machine. You earn a share set for that site. We do not publish the rate.
Same split as every other line
Who pays for free placement is the cost split. What venues earn is why we will not invent a nightly take. Smart machines versus a traditional route is the comparison if the last vendor left a cash bag with the closer. Smoke-free does not change who owns the cabinet.
When should a smoke-free venue say no?
Say no when the house rule bans the product, when counsel has not cleared vending, or when the crowd is not consistently 21+. Say no if bartenders would have to troubleshoot the cabinet or explain the policy at every vend. A declined stop is better than a machine that fights your sign or creates a compliance problem.
Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, and Mesa
The test does not change by city. A smoke-free room in Old Town and a smoke-free room in Tempe are the same questions: is the product allowed, and do the guests pass the cabinet? We do not rank neighborhoods. Locations is the venue list, not a map of which cities permit tobacco vending. For every line in one city, not only this product, see smart vending for Scottsdale venues.
FAQ
Nicotine pouches and disposable vapes are 21+ only. A smoke-free rule can take one or both off the machine. Arizona’s tobacco-vending statute is quoted on the FAQ for reference. OnHand does not give legal advice. The rest of the catalog does not require a nicotine yes.
Does smoke-free mean no ZYN?
Not by itself. It means we follow the rule you actually have. If that rule bans nicotine pouches, ZYN stays off. If it bans smoking and vaping but not pouches, say so, and still clear the vending placement with counsel. We will not guess.
Can we ban vapes and keep pouches?
Yes, if you are allowed to host the pouches and you want that mix. Geek Bar and Lost Mary do not have to be included. Tell us the boundary in the request. Someone under 21 still cannot complete a nicotine purchase. The machine checks age before those products vend.
Is Wip allowed in a smoke-free venue?
Wip is caffeine, not nicotine, and it is not part of the age check used for pouches and vapes. Your house rule still governs what you want on the floor. Ask for Wip on its own if that is the product. Do not treat it as a substitute for a 21+ line you were told not to carry.
Does a smoke-free bar automatically qualify under Arizona law?
No. We will not treat a smoke-free policy as clearance, and we will not tell you that your bar qualifies. Read the statute on the FAQ and confirm it with counsel. Ordinances can be stricter than the state text. This article is not legal advice.
Tell us the rule before the mix
Request a machine and say whether you want nicotine and lifestyle, food and beverage, or something else. Name the venue, the city, and what the smoke-free policy actually bans. We usually reply within one business day. We will not treat the form as legal clearance. If the fit is wrong, we will say so before anyone discusses a share. Every line is on machines.
